CODE OF CONDUCT

The Brazilian Conference on Data Journalism and Digital Methods (Coda.Br) aims to be a welcoming event, where people can meet in a friendly environment. Therefore, we expect all participants to show respect and courtesy to each other during the Conference.

To make this clear, all participants, speakers, collaborators, organizers, and volunteers must agree to the following code of conduct. The organizers will also seek to reinforce these behaviors before and during the event.

In summary

Coda.Br is dedicated to promoting a harassment-free experience for all people, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, physical characteristics or abilities, level of knowledge, economic class, race, or religion. We do not tolerate prejudice or harassment in any form. All participants are expected to comply with . basic netiquette rules.

Be kind and behave cordially. Do not insult or demean other participants. Harassment or sexist, racist, or exclusionary jokes will not be tolerated.

Participants who violate these rules may be warned or removed from the conference without a refund of the registration fee.

In detail

Harassment includes offensive comments related to gender, sexual orientation, physical ability or appearance, race, religion, sexually suggestive images, intimidation, persecution, sending repetitive messages in interaction channels (flooding), or inappropriate sexual comments.

We expect participants who are asked to stop harassing behavior to do so immediately.

Be careful with your words. Racist, sexist, classist, or exclusionary jokes can be offensive to those around you. Offensive jokes and profanity are not appropriate.

If a participant persists in harassing behavior, event organizers may take appropriate action, including warning the offender or removing them from the event without refunding their ticket. All activities will be attended by people responsible for moderation.

We expect participants to comply with this code of conduct throughout the activity.
